If you don’t know by now, the all-new Nike Air VaporMax EVO is stacked with Air Max heritage. The multi-faceted sneaker is a mash-up of 30 years of Air Max icons in one, including everything from the Air Max 90 to the Air Max 720 — and a sprinkling of everything in between. After having popped up in both an OG-colorway mash-up, and previously a “Triple Black” rendition, the surfacing of this third “Wolf Grey” Nike Air VaporMax EVO has all but confirmed that Nike has big plans ahead for the hybrid silhouette.
Here, the sneaker arrives across the whole monochrome spectrum, ranging from bright whites at the Swoosh, to jet blacks in the rear, while the majority of pair lies in between — somewhat closer to the white side. Light, bright greys are served up across most of the forefoot overlays, while uppers opt for a shade somewhere in the middle. The Air Tuned Max mid-panel is painted in a cooling blue-grey, while darker shaded hits the tongue, liner, laces, and midsole plastics. Black is used sparingly, at the aforementioned Air Max 93 heel badge — as well as the insoles — and the pair is complete atop a smokey grey-translucent VaporMax sole unit finished with grey and white traction pads.
