The Nike Air VaporMax Plus “Darth Maul” Drops November 2

With the sheer abundance of Star Wars fans out there, it should come as no surprise that the culture has crossed over into sneakers on more than one occasion. And while adidas is the official licensing partner of Lucasfilm, it’s often the unofficial links that are the most famous. From “Stormtrooper” Kobe 1s to the recent three-pack of Presto Utility’s inspired by some franchise favorites, fans of the Sci-Fi series are in no shortage of honoring their favorite characters — Jedi or Sith.

This new Nike Air VaporMax Plus “Darth Maul” has earned its moniker for obvious reasons, with its striking black and red arrangement ostensibly mirroring the villain’s appearance thanks to its veiny cage overlays. Underneath, a red-to-black gradient neoprene resides to give the pair substantial contrast, while blacks build out the majority of what remains. There are, however, a few more instances of crimson, with ankle Swooshes and gradient midfoot shanks providing some final pops of color to complete the design.
