It's official: Eliud Kipchogue will participate in the 2025 London Marathon. Although the Kenyan elite runner might be testing out some Nike Running prototype, it's likely he'll lace up the Alphafly 3 on April 27.

Historically, Kipchogue has either worn an unreleased sample or special edition of Nike Running's marquee marathon racing shoe. As the Swoosh continues to look for more top podium placements, however, it's possible the 40-year-old athlete will join other Nike-sponsored runners in rocking the shoe in which the current Marathon World Record was achieved (2 hours and 35 seconds).

The Nike Alphafly 3 has helped countless athletes record personal bests since debuting to the market last year. Rumors have already begun circulating about the race shoes' follow-up, but a new slew of colorways suggest the model still has some life left. Recently, the ZoomX and Zoom Air-assisted design emerged in a clean 'White/Gridiron/Pure Platinum' color scheme. While on-par with other Alphafly releases in terms of color-blocking, the grey-and-blue combination aligns with the color scheme widely-associated with London. So, could Kipchogue lace up the 'Gridiron' AF3 in England? It's possible.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, as you wait for the 'Gridiron' style to hit Nike.com sometime in March for $285 USD.
