Thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s obsession with Eddie Murphy’s Coming to America, we’re tipping that the creative department at Beaverton had to sit through hours of videotape, countless screenings and endless debate of the comedic masterpiece. The MVP made it clear that he wanted his first signature sneaker to be draped in all-things CTA, taking multiple themes from the silver screen for retail releases. But it appears that all those hours of viewing has rubbed off onto other silhouettes, with the brand bestowing the fictitious “McDowell’s” fast-food franchise uniform over the Nike Blazer Mid.

Instantly-recognizable red tartan is complemented by bold royal blue lacestays and heel panels that channel the workplace aprons, while 3D-embroidered Swooshes align extremely close to one half of the McDonald’s rip-off logo from the film. Classic white and light gum sole units sit underfoot, and the pair is completed with luxurious green leather liners and the film’s logo glazed prominently at the heel.
