Following months of speculation, the wait is officially over: Nike Basketball has revealed that Caitlin Clark's long-anticipated first-ever sneaker—the aptly-named Nike Caitlin 1—will release globally on Thursday, Oct. 1, for $140.
The Indiana Fever superstar spent the last few days teasing her debut signature sneaker via Instagram, dropping Easter eggs like a new @caitlin1 account name and profile photos showing closeups of the "Racer Blue" first pair. Brand-mate Travis Scott was even tapped to help unveil a fashion-friendly black edition of the Caitlin 1, demonstrating just how momentous the launch of Clark's first shoe is.
Following a 21-point performance against the Toronto Tempo, Clark and her Swoosh Family have decided to share everything there is to know about the Caitlin 1.

Caitlin 1 Design & Performance Tech
Given the expectations placed on Clark's inaugural signature shoe, the Nike Basketball design team had a tall task with the Caitlin 1. Fortunately for all, it delivered, introducing an innovative performance technology named Nike Opticast.
Built to the exact specifications of the WNBA star and developed with insight from her game, Nike Opticast is a new upper construction made up of cast polyurethane nodes. These PU elements feature varied Z-heights that've been designed and fine-tuned to reduce drag while enhancing on-court movement efficiency. Opticast's application on the Caitlin 1 features the athlete's "C" initials on the lateral side, while the medial side is made up of the number "2" as a nod to her 22 jersey number.
The upper's overall visual language references the ripple of the 3-point arc, an important part of Clark's game. Underfoot, a Cushlon midsole is coupled with an articulated forefoot Air Zoom Turbo unit, enabling close-to-foot responsiveness and enhanced court-feel. This cushioning package unlocks faster feedback in real-game situations, which is important for the type of shiftiness Clark needs.
A mid-foot shank and radial-patterned traction round out the sole unit. The outsole includes messages that reflect Clark's mentality: "Shoot More Threes"; "From Anywhere"; and "It was never a long shot."

Upcoming Nike Caitlin 1 Colorways
Nike Basketball's first Caitlin 1 release features an eye-catching "Racer Blue" color scheme, but Clark has already teased more pairs of her debut signature shoe. These styles include:
- "Black/Silver," as worn by Travis Scott
- "Christmas"/"Grinch," hinted at in an Instagram carousel by way of a partly-hidden vibrant green design

Caitlin 1 Release Date & Price
Clark subtly hinted at a launch date for her Caitlin 1 sneaker before Nike confirmed it by way of a friendship bracelet.
On June 16, the 24-year-old uploaded a picture to Instagram that showed her wearing a blue-colored bracelet reading "10-01-26"—a detail that translates to October 1, 2026. An official announcement by the Swoosh lists the Caitlin 1's first drop as landing on this date.
"Having my own shoe has been a dream for as long as I can remember, and seeing it come to life is pretty incredible," shared Clark in an official press release for the Nike Caitlin 1. "I wanted it to reflect how I play—fast, confident, and ready to let it fly. [The Caitlin 1] was a true partnership. [Nike] listened to every detail, and the innovation is designed for my game. Seeing the finished product for the first time will forever be a core memory."
Adult pairs of the Caitlin 1 are priced at $140 in North America ($135 elsewhere), with Kids' versions retailing for between $105-$120.
