The Nike Cortez Appears in Black Nubuck and Suede

Outside of a marquee collaboration with Sacai, the Nike Cortez didn’t live up to its full potential in 2022 amidst its 50th-anniversary celebration, Perhaps due in part to logistical delays. This year’s CLOT x Nike Cortez collection seems to be the catalyst, though, as the onslaught of general release is about to commence. One of those to come is this new Nike Cortez ’23 “Triple Black Suede,” which brings with it a premium touch to a staple sneaker scheme.

Forgoing a traditional white leather construct, the pair opts for an all-out assault in black hues, with uppers and overlays of nubuck and shaggy suede, respectively. Murdered-out midsoles continue the black-on-black theme, while a subtle splash of white at the midsole fleck and boot-inspired laces add a final touch of intrigue to the release.

A release date for this new Nike Cortez ’23 “Triple Black Suede” has just been confirmed for May 19th, with pairs set to arrive right here on Nike.com for $100.
