Since its debut in 1972, the Nike Cortez has transitioned from a performance runner to a lifestyle staple, deeply embedded in Los Angeles street culture. Now, the silhouette takes on a new identity for Fall 2025 with the Nike Cortez “Morse Code,” blending football-inspired design elements with understated branding.
At first glance, this pair leans into a rugged seasonal aesthetic. The entire upper comes wrapped in “Parachute Beige” suede, supported by a tonal foam midsole and semi-translucent gum rubber outsole. But it's the bold Velcro-secured fold-over tongues—a nod to vintage football boots—that give this edition its standout character, adding a sport-meets-streetwear edge to the classic silhouette.
More subtle updates arrive in the form of Morse code branding, with the word “NIKE” spelled out in raised dots and dashes across the lateral heel and insole. With a minimal palette, utilitarian vibe, and clever nods to heritage, the Cortez continues to evolve without losing sight of its roots.

.Though no release date has been confirmed, the Nike Cortez “Morse Code” is expected to launch via Nike.com and select retailers in the coming months.
