Nike is taking strides to honor Chinese heritage within its sneaker line-up, showcasing a commitment to cultural celebration with the latest Nike Cortez "NAI-KE" design. This release follows the recent departure of Edison Chen from his collaboration with the brand, leaving Nike to carry on the tradition independently with its "NAI-KE" collection.
The Fall/Winter 2023 expansion of the "NAI-KE" series has introduced the Nike Cortez "NAI-KE," which features distinctive woven accents. These are prominently displayed along the tongue beneath the classic Swoosh, infusing traditional craftsmanship into the iconic silhouette. The pack’s customary branding is elegantly embroidered on the heel tab, while a custom, bamboo-inspired dubrae adds a subtle yet profound touch of Chinese culture to the design.
The sneaker's base keeps to a more standard aesthetic, employing natural-colored leathers and suede that offer a timeless look. Underneath, a chalky gum bottom rounds out the design, sticking to the classic Cortez blueprint that fans have come to love and expect.
Set to be an Asia-exclusive release, the Nike Cortez "NAI-KE" is poised to release at select Swoosh stockists in the region this November.
