Nike's latest iteration of the classic Cortez sneaker introduces a bold, deconstructed design that is currently making waves in Asia. This new version of the Cortez, featuring a mix of leather and canvas, aligns with the innovative “Voodoo” design theme previously seen on Zion Williamson’s Zion 2 and the Jordan 1 Low.
The most striking feature of this Cortez is the double Swoosh design. The first layer of the Swoosh appears on peach-colored canvas, creating a vivid contrast against the shoe's base. This is then overlaid with a Baroque Brown leather Swoosh, adding a rich, textural element. This dual-layered Swoosh adds depth and a unique twist to the iconic Nike branding.
Another interesting aspect of this Cortez is the alternating canvas colors on the toe and heel, which swap places from shoe to shoe. One shoe features green canvas, while the other has gray canvas adorned with a distinctive star-patterned stitch. This asymmetrical approach adds an element of surprise and visual interest to the pair.
Further enhancing the design are additional brown leather accents on the eyestay, providing a striking contrast against the lighter base. Metal eyelets and rope laces contribute to the sneaker's rugged, deconstructed look, while a lace dubrae adds a finishing touch to the overall design.
