The mad scientists from Beaverton are continuing to experiment with the under-looked Nike Drop-Type but this time with a proven fan favorite textile… Denim!
Ever since the durable cotton textile enveloped the much loved Air Jordan 4 collaboration with Levi’s back in 2018, the material has had a resurgence in footwear. More recently the mix-and-match for the Drop-Type that included canvas, denim and paisely. Nike now dresses the low-key silhouette’s uppers entirely of the last mentioned in a signature blue-jean hue — including the exposed foam tongues. Setting up a beautiful contrast is the all white rubber toebox, overlapping mudguard and midsoles that’s completed with a gum outer sole. Ever-so simple but lux details finish off the designs appeal with a red Swooshes, contrast stitching akin to jean construction, cork insolea and and rear leather overlays that mimic back tags on a fresh pair of 501s.
Pairs are set to release in Asia on May 29th from Nike.com, but there is no word yet on a stateside release. Keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account to get further info as it lands, and in the meantime check out the official images below.
