Plaid and Tartan are taking over staple Nike Sportswear silhouettes this season, with everything from the Air Force 1 Low to the Nike Dunk Low boasting the traditional woven textile. The pairs started out in festive tartan colors, before recently migrating to tonal plaid approaches more fitting for the Fall. Now it returns to a Christmassy feel, with this new Nike Dunk High “Tartan” reinstating the holiday reds and greens through its titular textile weave.

Anchored by a solid sail sole unit, complete with contrast stitching, the pair looks to thick canvas uppers of black to place its overlays. Toe and eyestay overlays present in smooth red leathers, while Swooshes settle on a lightly tumbled sail leather — both fitted with contrast black thread. The rear overlays sport the titular finish in a traditional Tartan style, with complimentary black nylon tongues, black laces, and red tongue tags completing the design.

Hinting at an impending Nike.com release soon, official images of this new Nike Dunk High “Tartan” surfacing today would suggest that an autumn release is on the cards.
