When it comes to anniversaries, 52 is not typically a significant number. But for the Swoosh, another year of Nike is worth celebrating. But as it appears, the Swoosh will be making a big deal of the birthday, with this new Nike Dunk Low "52" honoring the obscure occasion.
Set to release alongside a handful of like-minded Nike Sportswear designs — including the just-revealed Vomero 5 the same name — this too features overarching features including celebratory branding at the insole and heel, and a color scheme set solely in white, grey, and aqua.
It's the latter hue that serves the pair's key accentuations, from the tongue tags to the laces, to the lateral TPU Swoosh overlays and the semi-translucent rubber outsole. All of this is set atop a clean white base, with light grey leather overlays, and a darker, cooler blue on the medial plastic Swoosh. The pair comes complete with an extra set of grey laces.
The more you know: The brand changed from "Blue Ribbon Sports" to "Nike" – the Goddess of Victory — in 1971. Nike would then officially trademark the Swoosh in 1972.
At the moment, details on the release have not been announced, but we'll likely receive more information soon. Stay tuned for further updates, and keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
