Following a similar trajectory to Air Force 1, the Nike (Sportwear) Dunk is beginning to surface in more exploratory colorways. From last year’s Community Garden to the just-revealed “Easter” exclusive for ladies, the silhouette is experimenting with blocking, materials, patterns, and colors much like the aforementioned AF1 has been doing for over a decade. The next pair to appear does all that and more, pairing mix-and-match ripstop camo prints with textured leathers in an overall militaristic aesthetic.
The first of two expected colorways have surfaced, this one sporting heavily tumbled leather overlays, nylons, and textiles of black across its multi-camo upper. The prints arrive in ripstop textiles, featuring tiger, digital, woodland, and flecktarn desert camouflage, each rotated through the pairs toe box, profile, and collar paneling. Smooth leather Swooshes arrive in the titular “Oil Green”, a color that reappears at the tongue, rear and outsole, too. Interestingly, the pair is finished off with a Nike Basketball motif in the rear in Team Orange — its meaning to the pair is not yet known. A second, yet-to-be-seen colorway is expected to arrive in similar styling with sail accentuations instead of black.
A release date for the all-new, military-inspired Nike Dunk Low “Camo” has not yet been set, but with official images for the pair available now, you should expect to see a release hit select Swoosh stockists and Nike.com in the not-too-distant future.
