Official Images // Nike Dunk Low “NY vs NY”
With the Summer streetball season canceled in 2020 due to COVID concerns, Nike was left with a bevy of New York Streetball-inspired sneakers with no events to celebrate. No Rucker Park. No Dyckman. Nada. Despite this, the footwear offerings were a success, indicating that fans would be even thirstier for some action when the tournaments roll around again in 2021. This year, it appears that the tournaments will go ahead — and with it will come the annual NY vs NY Nike collection. Whilst there’s likely to be a bevy of accompanying options, this year’s effort will be focused around this Nike Dunk Low “NY vs NY” — a pair revealed today for the very first time.
Early obtainer @repgod888 has got his hands on a pair in question and has provided a high-quality first look at the release. The pair arrives anchored in a smooth sage green leather base, with inverted tumbled leather overlays in crisp white. Midsoles, liners, and laces follow suit, the latter reaching across a nylon tongue that matches the upper’s green hue. Splashes of fresh orange arrive throughout, hitting the tongue, heel, and lateral NY vs NY branding, as well as the holographic Swooshes and tongue tags that glisten between both orange and golden yellow. The latter is accentuated by-way-of contrast stitching on the Swoosh and in the NY vs NY mini Swoosh. The pair is then completed by an icy translucent outsole with a schedule of events listed underfoot, including Watson vs Dykman, Lincoln vs Tri-State, and more.
A release date for the Nike Dunk Low “NY vs NY” has not yet been set, but with tournaments expected to kick off in June, you should expect to see a release around then..
