First released back in mid-2018, the Nike Hyperdunk X (10) was the final feather in the cap of the Swoosh’s incredible run of performance footwear. The fan-favorite series was ultimately replaced by the short-lived AlphaDunk, and, most recently, the GT series of sneakers. Though the latter series is proving to be a great success, Nike will take it upon themselves to reinstate the line’s tenth model in 2022 after just four years of absence from the market.
Fans of the Zoom Air-loaded, mid-cut monster will be very pleased as this new colorway looks back to the sneaker’s origins with Kobe Bryant, as it takes on a classic Lakers color scheme of white, purple, and gold. Though not overt in its association, all the signs are there; a pure white jersey mesh upper with liners of Concord Purple and eyestays of gold ties closely to the franchise’s white kit, while all three colors converge on the flecked midsole. Icy outsoles rest underfoot, with signature HD (10) branding in the back rounds out the design.
