With Kanye’s departure from adidas, it’s hard to gauge how the foam clog-slip-on trend will take. Will it be short-lived? Will it kick on for a while yet? Only time will tell. Of course, footwear brands have already committed a sizable portion of the effort to the trend, from adiFOM Qs and Superstars to Nike’s new ISPA Univerversal, a fossilized slip-on of audacious ambition.
Set to debut in two colorways, the one-piece foam slipper is eerily close to the KITO Ware’s Jag Foam in that it takes a bone-like structure, complete with imperfections, ridges, and perforations. A typical “Natural” colorway is joined by a rustic “Mink Brown,” with the latter showing an eroded, worn-down finish that is symbolic of the ISPA division.
Nike US has not yet confirmed a release for the new model, but official images of the pair would suggest that they will touch down soon. As always, keep your eyes glued toour official Twitter accountfor further updates. Until then, enjoy a detailed look at the two debut colorways here below.
