The mismatched Nike Ja 1 “Light Smoke Grey” will release on August 11th.
Following the pattern set by May's “Hunger” release, the “Light Smoke Grey” also plays with contrasting aesthetics, blending the titular hue with complimentary “Phantom,” and “Light Bone” in deliberate imbalance. From the most minor details like the tread, heel tab, and inner lining, to more prominent features like the quarter overlay and profile swooshes, no two elements match their counterpart on the opposing shoe.
Despite this chaos of mismatched elements, the design has a unifying thread: the vibrant “Yellow Ochre” accents. These touches of color appear on the tongue tab, insole logo, and the embroidered number 12 on the heel, bringing a sense of harmony to the otherwise disparate design.
See for yourself below, and expect this new colorway of the Nike Ja 1 "Light Smoke Grey" hit select retailers on August 11th for $110.
