Ja Morant’s fourth signature sneaker is beginning to take shape, with the Nike Ja 4 now surfacing in another early colorway ahead of its fall rollout.
Following first looks at the “Jaws” pair, the Nike Ja 4 “Dark Mode” is now expected to release on September 4, 2026, bringing a much more understated finish to Morant’s next signature model. Where the “Jaws” colorway leans into ocean blues and movie-inspired detailing, this pair keeps things darker, sharper, and more versatile.
The sneaker arrives in a muted charcoal and black-heavy palette, giving the Ja 4 a stealthy look that fits its “Dark Mode” nickname. The upper appears to feature a textured, dimpled build across the forefoot and side panels, while chrome-like Swoosh branding and sculpted midfoot pieces add a more futuristic edge. Subtle light-blue accents break up the darker base, appearing through the midfoot plate and branding details.

From a design standpoint, the Nike Ja 4 continues to move Morant’s line into a more aggressive direction. The shoe keeps a low-cut build but adds larger sculpted support elements, a more prominent sidewall setup, and a sleeker overall shape than previous models in the line. It feels more refined than the Ja 3 while still holding onto the energetic look that has defined Ja’s Nike signature series so far.
The “Dark Mode” colorway also gives Nike Basketball an easy early entry point for the model. It is clean enough for the court, subtle enough for everyday wear, and still distinct enough to stand apart from standard black-based basketball releases.
The Nike Ja 4 “Dark Mode” is expected to release on September 4, 2026. The pair is expected to retail at $140 with more details expected to surface soon, as Nike prepares the Ja 4’s official rollout.
