Fuck Cancer.
You can hate on Kevin Durant all you want, but you can’t deny his compassion for those who are currently, and have suffered from Breast Cancer.
His continued support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is a testament to Durant’s character. His “Aunt Pearl” series, which serves as a platform to honor his late aunt, has continued to raise funds for charity for nearly a decade through special release signature sneakers. This year’s effort highlights 59 cancer survivors by placing their names on the custom insoles of the shoes as well as the exterior heel counter. For the outside of the sneaker, it’s dressed entirely in a striking Pinks, the official color of the Breast Cancer Awareness movement. It’s finished off with a marbleized outsole, and a solitary pearl on the lateral ankle — a final shoutout to his Aunt.
The Nike KD 11 “Aunt Pearl” hits select stores on February 14th, 2019 alongside the rest of Nike’s All-Star footwear line-up. Stay tuned for updates to our Where to Buy Guide below, as retailers will be updating their listings all week.
