Whether it’s KD, Kyrie, or King James, Nike’s signature basketball line continues to visit the famed Bred schematic — after all, would signature sneakers be as big as they are without Mike? Absolutely not. MJ’s long run at the top with his own footwear line, along with Pippen’s and Rodman’s Nike sneakers, engraved the black and red into footwear folklore — and the Swoosh has capitalized ever since. Now, it the Nike KD 14 “Bred” that boasts the classic color combination, doing its best Air Jordan 11 impression with it.
Though void of material matches, the pair borrows heavily from Mike’s AJ11 blocking. Black uppers, pure white midsoles, and red tread show this immediately, but its design language enables it to add more embellishments. Kyrie-like heel panels sport a rich red finish, as to does the mesh underlay on the upper. Branding at the tongue is also done in red, with speckled Swooshes at the straps adding even more retroelements to the release.
Currently, Foot Locker notes a July 8th release date for the pair, though other retailers are yet to confirm their dates. Until then, enjoy an official look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep it locked on the official HOUSE OF HEAT Twitter account for updates.
