Nike Basketball is continuing its All-Star retro cycle with the return of the Nike Kobe 4 Protro "All-Star," expected for Spring 2027. First released in 2009, the pair is set to align with the NBA All-Star Game in Phoenix, bringing back a key moment from Kobe Bryant’s early signature line.

The original release carries added significance, as Kobe Bryant wore the Nike Kobe 4 "All-Star" during the 2009 All-Star Game, where he shared Co-MVP honors with Shaquille O’Neal.

In terms of design, the Nike Kobe 4 Protro "All-Star" is expected to stay close to its original form. A red-based upper is paired with white hits across the Swoosh, laces, and toe, while fine linear detailing runs through the midfoot panels. Gold branding at the tongue and heel adds contrast, with a translucent outsole finishing the build.
This release follows Nike’s recent pattern of revisiting All-Star Kobe models annually, with the Kobe 6 Protro "3D All-Star" returning during last year’s All-Star game. Like those pairs, the Nike Kobe 4 Protro "All-Star" is expected to be a true retro, maintaining the original look while incorporating subtle performance updates underfoot.
The Nike Kobe 4 Protro "All-Star" is expected to release in Spring 2027 in connection with Phoenix’s All-Star Weekend. More details should arrive closer to the event.
