Participants of the brand's Elite Basketball Youth: The Academy program recently received a special edition of the popular Kobe 5 Protro. The pair features a mint-and-black color scheme, with the former tone evoking images of the Jalen Brunson-co-signed Kobe 6 Protro "Statue of Liberty" project. The New York Knicks guard's Player-Exclusive, however, is set to see a public release during the Holiday 2025 season. By comparison, no word has been shared about the latest EYBL sneaker dropping for non-elite hoopers.

The late Kobe Bryant was a huge proponent of women's basketball, so the move on the Swoosh's part makes perfect sense. The "Black Mamba" legacy continues to live via handfuls of different products, from performance footwear to lifestyle-oriented sweatsuits.
