The Nike Kobe 9 Low EM “Purple Dynasty” is scheduled to return in Spring 2026, bringing back one of the performance-focused versions of Kobe Bryant’s ninth signature shoe. Originally introduced as a more breathable and court-ready alternative to the Engineered Mesh Elite version, the EM build was designed with comfort, flexibility, and lightweight performance in mind.
This upcoming release arrives dressed in a deep Purple Dynasty colorway, paired with darker blacked-out accents throughout the upper and midsole. The engineered mesh construction dominates the upper, offering targeted ventilation while maintaining structure through high-wear zones. Subtle tonal variations across the mesh help add depth without distracting from the shoe’s overall performance-driven aesthetic.
Branding remains consistent with the original model, including a metallic purple Swoosh along the lateral side and Kobe Bryant’s signature molded into the heel counter. The tongue features Kobe’s Sheath logo, while purple lining and lace loops reinforce the monochromatic theme. Underfoot, the sculpted Lunarlon midsole provides responsive cushioning, paired with a low-profile setup that keeps the shoe close to the court.
The outsole continues the Kobe 9 Low EM’s focus on multidirectional traction, featuring flowing wave-like patterns designed to support quick cuts, stops, and directional changes. A subtle Sheath logo is embedded into the outsole near the heel, maintaining the model’s signature detailing without excess branding.
The Nike Kobe 9 Low EM “Purple Dynasty” is set to release on January 1st through Nike and select retailers.
In other Kobe news, Nike will deliver a two-pair Air Force 1 pack that appears to honor the Mamba's Lower Merion High School.
