LeBron Honors MJ With Jordan 3-Inspired LeBron 16’s as He Passes Him on the All-Time Scorers List
Entering last night’s game only 13 points behind Michael Jordan’s career points totals — and with the amount of respect LeBron has for Michael — you just knew the King would be up to something special.
To pay homage to Mike, his iconic legacy left on the game of basketball, and his influence on the sneaker industry, James played last night’s game in an Air Jordan 3-inspired version of the LeBron 16. Decked out in an LA Lakers color scheme similar to that of Aire’s AIr Jordan 3 PE, the toe box and heel overlays are ripped straight from the iconic ’88 design. But for Bron, the elephant print is replaced by “Remix” graffiti text reading influential phrases like “Fearless” and “Winning.” It comes complete with a clunky painted midsole piece and Nike Air branding on the heels, which brings back an instant hir of nostalgia.
Luckily the King didn’t’ brick the opportunity, cruising past MJ with 31 points on the night in their 99-115 home loss.
