LeBron James and his Nike Basketball family continue to tell stories with the LeBron 23. The latest pair to surface—dubbed "Out for Redemption"—turns back the clock to August 2008.
Officially clad in a "Midnight Navy/University Red/Metallic Gold" color scheme, the impending drop is an ode to James and the rest of the "Redeem Team," the moniker given to Team USA Basketball during the Beijing Summer Olympics. Successors to the "Dream Team" on which Michael Jordan played in the 1990s, James and company felt a pressure to regain the competition's highest award after shortcomings by Team USA representatives in the previous two international tournaments. The late Kobe Bryant is fondly remembered as a game-changing component to the Redeem Team, but James also played an important role in the squad—both on and off-court.

The model's molded construction features a series of etched iconography that includes stars, arrows, and a number of other symbols inspired by the Redeem Team story. Shimmering golden touches arrive in the form of branding elements. A Redeem Team-branded basketball emblem appears on the spine, cementing the pair-specific narrative.
The commemorative basketball shoe is expected to release via Nike.com on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026. Men's sizes retail for $210.
