Although the football season may have wrapped up, Nike's innovation on the field doesn't take a break. With an eye towards the future, they're rolling out an exciting addition to their lineup of cleats that will have athletes and fans eagerly anticipating next season's kick-off.
The legendary “Fruity Pebbles” colorway, which first made waves with the Nike LeBron 4 in 2006, is making a grand return. Originally an exclusive drop for LeBron James himself, the design is now slated for a broader release this spring. But the excitement doesn't stop there; Nike is set to introduce the Nike LeBron 4 Menace cleat, drenched in the same playful and colorful design.
This transition from hardwood hero to gridiron glory caught the public's eye in November last year when LeBron gifted a pair to Cincinnati Bengals' star Ja’Marr Chase. The move sparked widespread speculation about whether the cleats would remain a one-off or see a wider release. As spring 2024 approaches, we've got our answer with a detailed look at Nike Football's latest marvel.
Encased in a special cobranded box that pays homage to the iconic Fruity Pebbles cereal, complete with imagery of LeBron dunking over Fred Flintstone, the packaging sets the stage for what's inside. The cleats stay true to the original LeBron 4's aesthetic, featuring a crisp white upper adorned with the multicolored cereal flake pattern along the full-length mudguard. The design turns functional with the Vapor Edge sole, updated for the football field with a glossy "University Blue" studded tread and practical pull tabs. At the same time, a pair of crimson-red Swooshes add a dynamic pop of color.
Official images of the pair have now surfaced ahead of a release on Nike.com on March 7th, 2024.
Expect more details to emerge soon.
