The Nike React Element 55 Returns in “Clear Blue”

It’s been a minute since we saw the Nike React Element 55 surface in something that wasn’t special-edition. After a slew of wild prints, schematic patterns, and NFL and NCAA-franchised pairs, It’s good to see Nike’s React Element 55 go back to basics. But while those releases gained considerable hype, you just can’t beat simplicity. This next-up release does just that — simplicity — and does it extremely well. Utilizing a Vast Grey base with matching overlays, tongues, and heel clips, along with a crisp white React sole, the pair serves as a figurative blank canvas for subtle hits of navy, orange, and black. Although it’s “Clear Blue” that plays the boldest role, striking the lateral Swoosh and heel pulls in inconspicuous fashion. The aforementioned navy rides the liner, lacestay underlays, and heel taping, with orange embroidery and tongue branding playing but a minor role. Completing the design are smokey-black translucent outsole plugs, and crisp white rope laces.
