Nike SB “Hack Pack” Tributes Time-Tested Tradition of DIY Repair

There’s a lot of fond memories attached to old skate shoes. I for one had an old pair of SB Dunks that were beaten up, worn out and taped up. I was a kid. I couldn’t afford new shoes every other week to thrash in, so I turned to a little DIY restoration — as did a lot of my fellow friends. It’s a deep-rooted tradition, in fact, so much so that Nike SB will be releasing a tributing “Hack Pack” of deconstructed/reconstructed/patched up pairs on Nike Blazers Mid Edges.

From fallen-off Swooshes, to tacked-on suede panels to cover tears, to sacai-inspired double-tongues, the Blazer truly sums up the tradition — although it looks a little weird for all of that to arrive on something that looks so squeaky clean. The first two colorways to appear are a clean, classic white, red and navy, with a second, more vibrant edition pairing neon blues and pinks with golden-yellow..
