Nike, Inc.'s retro efforts span more than 50 years. And while widely celebrated, the Oregon-based company also commits itself on producing brand-new product inspired by its expansive archive. Case in point?: The V5 RNR for women.
Rooted in Nike Running's performance footwear of the early 2000s, the silhouette delivers heritage and a trendy aesthetic for modern audiences. The breathable, lightweight mesh upper sets the stage for a plethora of synthetic overlays, which opt for a refreshing 'Psychic Blue' color on the latest pair to surface. Reflective accents throughout the top-half harken back to beloved running franchises from the Swoosh—which now includes the marquee Pegasus Premium.
Underfoot, the tooling solution falls in line with the design principles of yesteryear. No ZoomX, ReactX, or Cushlon foam found in top-of-the-line products appears on the lifestyle shoe, but the EVA foam provided delivers a reliable ride. A mid-foot shank indulges in the titular blue tone while delivering stability to every stop. Lastly, the rubber tread features recycled materials as denoted by its speckled finish.
