The Nike VaporMax 2023 Flyknit Debuts April 6

Since its introduction in 2017, the Nike VaporMax has consistently found ways to redefine its engineered Flyknit construct — and even its bare-Air footbed. As one of Nike’s most popular and innovative sneakers from the past decade, the sportswear giant has decided it’s time for another upgrade, with the all-new Nike VaporMax 2023 Flyknit set to shift the daily once more.

Compared to the busy design of its recent predecessors, the new version features a simplified Flyknit upper that aligns itself more with the original 2017 construction. The shoe ditches the overzealous pull tabs, added quarters, and heightened heel counters, instead opting for a toned-down rubberized shielding on the mudguards placed at the forefoot and heel. The mid-foot Checks are no longer embroidered; the Flyknit textile’s chosen color showcases the Swoosh logo. The shoe’s tongue and vertically striped heel counter feature matching branding colors, while a miniature Swoosh is affixed along the full-length Air bag underfoot. The tongue’s tooling renders a one-piece ensemble, and a premium wave of terry fabric outfits the tightened collar.

The Nike VaporMax 2023 Flyknit will debut on April 20th, and you can expect a slew of colorways to come — including these two debut options in “Black” and “Pure Platinum” pictured below — and now two more added in white and pastel pink.
