From being the first father/son duo in Major League Baseball history to that beautiful swing. Next Nike will take a look back at a ridiculous athletic effort, with this Nike Air VaporMax Plus “Spider-Man Catch” a tribute to the 1991 event.
With Marvel linked heavily to adidas, there is no overt mention of the superhero to be seen, though Nike subtly gets around it through the obvious webbed insoles and symbiote Spiderman eye graphics on the neoprene upper. The overarching palate mimics Ken and the Mariner’s famous Freshwater arrangement, with teal pops at the rear pull, midfoot shank, and tongue against a monochrome base, while inclusions like #24 branding and Swingman hangtags are added for extra embellishment.
