Devin Booker recently stepped out for 2025 NBA Media Day duties while holding an unreleased pair of his Nike Book 1 basketball shoe. He also posted a picture of the sneaker to Instagram Stories, providing a better look as to what he held in hand.
Tentatively dubbed the "What the" Book 1, the pair features panels directly borrowed from handfuls of different makeovers to have graced the Phoenix Suns guard's debut signature model. As anticipation builds for the Nike Book 2, it's unclear wether the mish-mash style is the way to close out Chapter One of the hooper's first Nike Basketball shoe.
For the uninformed, the "What the" was introduced by the Swoosh via its Nike SB line in 2007. The makeover brought together some of the category's most iconic finishes across one pair of sneakers. Since then, different groups underneath the Nike, Inc. umbrella have utilized a similar hodgepodge approach to special editions of a specific franchise or silhouette.
The "What the" Nike Book 1 is expected to see a Nike.com launch in the coming months. The shoe is limited to just 1,996 pairs, a nod to his birth year.
