First Looks // Nike Zoom GT Run “Ghost Swoosh”

Back in 2020, after almost every professional and amateur sport was postponed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, athletic brands were left in a holding pattern. The spare time enabled brands like Nike to cautiously plan for an uncertain future. Not knowing how the pandemic would impact the coming months and years, there was one thing they did know — that sports would return in some shape or form, and that should be celebrated. In anticipation of the return, the brand unveiled the GT hoops series, headlined by the Nike Zoom GT Run. The React-loaded model became a fan favorite for many reasons; its audacious design, its ultra-comfort, and competitive price points made it an attractive option — and its daring colorways definitely played a big part in its success. Now it’s surfaced as part of Nike’s impending “Ghost Swoosh” series, though here it is used minimally, yet still managed to capture the color of the collection.

Noted at the forefoot is the titular Check as the only reference to the whimsical pack, but the pair’s bright whites, bold blacks, and gaudy greens, red, pinks, and orange all fall in line with what we’ve seen from the collection thus far.
