When it was announced last year that Virgil Abloh’s The Ten collection was finally over, most took that as a parting word from the OFF-WHITE founder, so that he could focus solely on his new gig at the helm of Louis Vuitton. But c’mon man — as if Nike would let the mega-partnership slide. What it really meant was that Virgil would no longer be tinkering with the ten iconic Nike and Jordan silhouettes outlined in the collection. That didn’t mean he couldn’t do his think on some less-favored footwear, like the Zoom Terra runner.
As part of Virgil’s “Athlete in Progress” Collection, Abloh has transformed the ultimate dad gym shoe into a trio of track-spiked sneakers in black/pink, white/lime and moss/lime/black — each adorning the signature embellishments of an OFF-WHITE collaboration, from the exposed foam tongues to the attached zip ties. These all form part of Abloh’s upcoming Track and Field collection, which will tackle some of the Swooshes most beloved performance runners.
