Tinker Hatfields’s Nike ACG Mowabb has long been a favorite amongst trainer heads and inner fashion circles alike. With collaborations from Comme des Garçons in 2018 to Oliva Kim’s reinterpretation as “the perfect hiking shoe for club kids” in 2019, the silhouette has shared some sporadic success. Since then, it’s been crickets, with the model absent from shelves for the better part of 18 months. Prior to the aforementioned collabs, the trail trainer had been drip-fed to the market, with its most famous OG colorway last seen in 2016. Now it’s set to return at the tail-end of 2021 (or even 2022 with delays) to celebrate its 30th-anniversary — and will do so by reinstating its original “Rattan Birch” arrangement set to kick off the celebration.
Returning in all of its OG glory — just as Tinker intended —you can expect to see the titular hue hitting the uppers, it’s signature Royal and Bright Mandarin inn bootie intact, and the Huarache-like caging in the rear. Expect midsole speck to return, too, as well as the famed Mowabb-laden outsole underfoot. Though first looks at the 2021 release are yet to appear, you can get reacquainted with official looks at 2016’s release below.
