The Nike Air Max 1 “La Ville-Lumière” Arrives on Air Max Day

Though we’ve had collaborations from Patta and Concepts, NFT’s from Tinker, and a brand new model dubbed the Air Max Motif, it still feels that the 35th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 1 is heavily underappreciated. That will surely change as Air Max Month unfolds when new releases like this Europe-exclusive Air Max 1 “La Ville-Lumière” that doubles up as a love letter to Paris, the City of Light.

Arriving in a striking white, bone, and iridescent arrangement, the pair pops without much use of color. It’s pinned down to the audacious multi-color overlays that glisten from pink to purple, to silver and blue — and more — when struck with light. It’s mesh, leather and suede surrounds frame it in simple white and bone hues before a bold pop of navy blue at the nylon tongue makes itself known. This is equipped with the Air Max Day date (3.26), with it recurring on the insole and outsole — the latter two met with dedications to Paris. The pair is then completed by special-edition chrome hangtags, boxing, and tissue paper, too.
