Nike SB is stirring some childhood nostalgia with a spirited collaboration with The Powerpuff Girls on the SB Dunk Low series. This unique partnership, slated to drop just in time for the holidays, serves as a festive tribute to the iconic cartoon series on its 25th anniversary.
Conceived by Professor Utonium using sugar, spice, everything nice, and the mysterious Chemical X, The Powerpuff Girls has been a beloved trio of tiny superheroes since their inception. Each member, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, brings unique powers and personalities to the table, collectively defending Townsville against an array of villains. They are symbols of justice and teamwork, and the essence of these characters will be embodied in the upcoming sneaker collaboration.
Three colorways are set to be unveiled, each dedicated to one of the Powerpuff Girls. With Blossom's intelligence and ice breath, Bubbles' ability to talk to animals, and Buttercup's super strength and sonic scream, expect each sneaker to encapsulate the essence of its respective character vibrantly and playfully. In addition to premium materials, the sneakers will feature oversized eyes on the heels, mirroring the characters' distinctive appearance. Special co-branded packaging will also be provided.
But not all Powerpuff Girls are created equal, at least in terms of release strategy. While one colorway will be widely released, the remaining two will have a more limited circulation.
Save the date for December 15th, when The Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Low collection is slated to release online on Nike SNKRS.
Pairs will be released via the SNKRS "Scratcher" system and scattered throughout the day, so keep your eyes on the app.
If you can wait it out, aftermarket sites have pairs of the "Blossom" (see Flight Club + GOAT) "Buttercup," (see Flight Club + GOAT) and "Bubbles" (see Flight Club + GOAT) colorways online now.
