Floral Flex.
Sean Wotherspoon’s Air Max 1/97 hybrid has not only been one of the most memorable releases of the year, it’s probably up there with the most desired, too. And even rarer for modern day collaborations, it stays true to the designer in every way.
And it seems like Sean isn’t shying away from his theme, with the Round Two co-founder is showing off an all-new Nike flex of similar structure.
Like his official collaboration, this bespoke pair of Air Max 1s is decked out in varying pastel corduroys over the upper. But wait, there’s more — a hidden layer underneath can expose Liberty Fabric floral patterns. He’s also added Triple Swooshes on the tongues and a mini Swoosh embroidered on the lateral toe. The shop owner-come-designer says he was inspired to use the double-layer feature by Geoff McFetridge’s Nike Vandal collaboration from 2003.
The bad news is that there is only two pairs . of these in existence, and they both belong to the man who created them. And with a second Air Max 97/1 from Sean on the way, don’t hold your breath on these to release anytime soon.
