First leaked way back in September of 2019, information on the Skepta x Nike Tailwind V has been noticeably absent — and reportedly, that was all due to COVID-19 concerns. Now, around 15 months later, we finally get a first look at the release.

The London MC will continue his relationship with Nike in another streetwear stalwart, this time taking graphic orange uppers and pairing them with eggplant-like iridescent. The latter is found at the heel and tongue, while the former graces the pair’s neoprene upper. Standard black caging, leather toe caps, and sole units reside in the usual fashion, while a striking chrome quarter wing providing the pair’s most striking finish. Co-branded SK-AIR hits the tongues and likely the insoles, too, to complete the design.

Originally reported to release for Spring 2020, pairs of the Skepta x Nike Tailwind V are now expected to arrive for the 2021 season, a mere 12 months behind schedule — but by the first looks at the sneaker, the wait will be worth it. Official images of the Skepta x Nike Tailwind V in Bright Blue have landed. Euro retailers size?and BSTN has the accompanying apparel line listed for an Air Max Day drop (March 26th) but the sneaker listing is absent from all accounts. It may well drop tomorrow, too, but it has been earmarked for a wider release on April 2nd by the retailers listed below.

Finally, details of the second Skepta x Nike Tailwind V “Bloody Chrome” release have landed — and this one won’t be a solo release.

An avid fan and participant of the game, Skepta is appropriately the very first music artist to see a collaboration of this kind. And though it’s distinct in its purpose, the Phantom effortlessly complements the Tailwind in both name and colorway.
