After decades of waiting, the Nike Mac Attack is finally receiving its first retrospective run of releases. Though much noise has been made for the OG re-run, including a launch campaign featuring Travis Scott and Johnny Mac himself, the four-piece Social Status collaboration has been amongst the most anticipated.

Drawing inspiration from the urban currency of food stamps and the government-regulated renewal dates, the Charlotte retailer's short film titled “1st & 15th” is a portal into the landscape for the silhouette’s inaugural collaborative endeavor.

The sneaker's "Silver Lining's" Swoosh, ankle collar, and heel foxing feature a reflective nylon finish, while the remainder of the upper showcases a vintage-inspired aesthetic, complete with cracked suede and a pre-yellowed midsole.

Beyond the two-toned color blocking, Social Status has imbued the design with a captivating feature: the nylon components can be cut away or naturally worn down to unveil a hidden layer. Early leaks suggest this concealed material might be a varsity chenille. Moreover, Social Status has curated a special shoe-box for this release, continuing the overarching theme for the entire collaboration.

The Social Status x Nike Mac Attack “Silver Lining” is set to launch on July 14th via the retailer's official channels. It will be available in adult sizes at a retail price of $140.

Following its release, three more colorways are expected to join the lineup.
