Penny 2s, Converse Chucks, Air Force 1s, and Air Max 2013s — Stüssy has been a very busy bunch in 2022. But that’s nothing new for the legendary streetwear brand, which has been delivering footwear collaboration after footwear collaboration for over 20 years. So news of another collection should come as no surprise — but the silhouette in question might. Yes, as the title suggests, Stussy will look to reinvigorate the Nike Vandal High in 2023 with not one, not two, but three colorways on the way.
Though Stussy is embarking on a fresh journey with their reimagining of the Nike Vandal, it's hard not to recognize their hallmark attributes in the design. The strap, mirroring the black of the nearby laces and intricately stitched Swoosh, is a standout feature, as is the dominant use of hemp materials — seen first here in a "Deep Royal Blue" hue. This dark, cool hue permeates the natural fibers that form the majority of the shoe's upper body, in harmony with the nylon tongue and outsole. The look is rounded off with a crisp white midsole and the instantly recognizable Stussy 8-ball logo. The "Black" and "Fossil" colorways bring in much of the same Stüssy charm, each coming completed with vibrant lace and strap options and special-edition packaging.
The accompanying "Black" and "Fossil" colorway will launch alongside the "Deep Royal" exclusively on Stüssy and DSM locations on June 9th, while a follow-up Nike.com release for the Stüssy x Nike Vandal High "Deep Royal Blue" will go down on June 15th. Pairs will retail for $130 each.
