OG Post 11.19.19 //Do you know what this means? Any time Supreme comes along to collaborate with Nike or Jordan Brand, a flood of same-silhouette GRs will follow — think the More Uptempo, the Foamposite, the Tailwind IV, this year’s Air Jordan 14 collection and the recent trio of Air Max 95s ahead of the silhouette’s 25th anniversary. If you’re a fan of the OG Nike Air Cross Trainer 3 from the early 90s, you’re gonna have a field day in 2020. But this Gucci-styled effort from Supreme is carved out for those with a taste for hype.
This archival pair utilized a similar sole tooling as the Air Trainer SC High, a sneaker connected to dual-pro athlete Bo Jackson, but the design was fairly low-tech for the era as Nike began to transition heavily into visible Air Max cushioning. This edition attempts to take it from the field to the high-fashion houses of Italy — but, in all honesty, it’s not the silhouette to do it with. That’s not stopping the hype machine that is Supreme from decking the pair out with luxe leathers, perforations, and a high-fashion palette.
