In 2024, the legendary partnership between Nike SB and Supreme is slated to take the sneaker world by storm once again. This time, the duo is set to breathe new life into the Nike SB Darwin Low with a collection that comprises four scintillating colorways.
The Nike Darwin holds a special place in the annals of sneaker history. It was crafted in the 1990s by the renowned Tinker Hatfield, the genius behind many iconic Swoosh designs that often overshadow silhouettes like the Darwin. At the time, though, the Darwin swiftly rose to fame, largely due to NBA legend Dennis Rodman, who was often seen donning them on the hardwood. It, like Rodman's NDESTRUKT, was some of the first Nike sneakers to feature the reverse Swoosh logo.
The high-top iteration eventually returned in 2018; the low is yet to see a return. That will all change in 2024, as Supreme and Nike SB will work together to reintroduce the Darwin Low.
Colorways are expected to arrive in four ways; “Black,” “Sail,” (both pictured below) “Khaki,” and “Volt.” Moreover, keeping in line with the skateboarding heritage of Nike SB, it is expected that the Darwin Low will be re-engineered with features conducive to skateboarding. However, technical specifics remain under wraps for now.
The Supreme x Nike SB Air Darwin collection will be released on May 2nd, 2024 as a wider part of their apparel collection for the Spring season.
