The Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe Drops June 10th
Though he’s known for his outlandish and audacious designs, Tom Sachs is often a far cry from versatility. Though through his footwear collaborations with Nike, the American artist has shown a penchant for all-encompassing footwear, inclusive of lifestyle-first Mars Yards, to literal moon boots. His next, this new Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe for 2022, scales things right back by combining his all-purpose utilitarian ideals with heritage trainers.
The new silhouette aesthetically leans heavily towards the Nike Killshot, with almost identical design lines. Tom has tacked on a few extra overlays and guards and has ripped open the liners on both the collar and tongue for a worn-in feel. Even the materials used are retro-inspired, with nylon uppers and suede overlays reminiscent of the Killshot’s early era. All of this rests within a gum rubber cup sole, and is capped off with special branding hits found throughout.
