James Bond and Eddie Cruz are finally ready to drop their UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Zoom Spiridon collaboration.
Unveiled to the public at a low-key event in Las Vegas last November, the West Coast imprint's latest linkup with the Swoosh marks 23 years of collaboration. UNDEFEATED's take on Christian Tresser's iconic silhouette from 1997 skews on the reserved side, donning a 'Thunder Blue/Metallic Silver' colorway. Hits of rich green enter the mix via miniature swooshes at the forefoot and the reflective nylon strips on and around the tongue.
The storied boutique recently shared a 15-second clip to the platform formerly called Twitter to announce that its Air Zoom Spiridon project would release soon.
Much was still left under wraps by Bond and Cruz's label in the first teaser shared to social media, but follow-up visuals revealed the project in full alongside news that pairs would land exclusively in-store at UNDEFEATED La Brea, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and New York.
Lifestyle-focused materials come together across the Air Zoom Spiridon – namely suede via the mudguards. A blue-colored tab branded with UNDFTD text appears on the lateral heel. Dalmatian-reminiscent laces and 'Phantom' midsoles deviate from the offering's mostly-dark color scheme. The peculiar outsole underfoot doesn't deviate much from the pair's overall aesthetic, but the boutique's logos are stamped onto the heel section.

UNDEFEATED's 'Thunder Blue' Spiridon were limited to just 1,000 pairs. Folks looking to secure the collaboration on Saturday, Feb. 22, had to visit one of the brand's aforementioned locations. Each pair was packaged in a multi-colored shoe box covered in race bibs. The collaboration did not see an online release, leaving those who really wanted a pair but don't leave near one of the bouqitue's storefronts to pay a lot more than $160 on the after-market.
A week after the in-store drop of the 'Thunder Blue' style, two more projects from UNDEFEATED's latest Swoosh-backed project surfaced. Brendan Dunne shared the unreleased pairs on the Complex Sneakers Podcast. The follow-up releases will be a lot more accessible and present military-appropriate combinations of colors: 'Phantom/Black/Light Cream' and 'Cargo Khaki/Black/Black.' Akin to their predecessor, the duo boasts a number of co-branding details commemorating the special linkup.
A Nike SNKRS launch for the 'Phantom' and 'Black/Cargo Khaki' styles is expected to take place on Saturday, March 29.
