Following the release of their Puma Palermo “Scopa,” Asphaltgold is set to unveil another collaboration centered around Italian hospitality with the Puma Palermo “Sedia.”

The “Sedia,” which translates to “chair” in English, draws inspiration from a beloved Italian sentiment encapsulated by the children’s song lyrics, “Aggiungi un posto a tavola, che c’è un amico in più” – meaning “Add a place at the table, there’s an extra friend coming.”

These lyrics, emblematic of Italian family and community values, are subtly integrated under the semi-detached tabs along the shoe’s lateral sides.

Visually, the design pays homage to the iconic plastic monoblock chairs, a staple of Italian social gatherings and often host countless cherished memories. This nod to everyday simplicity is reflected in ribbed suede overlays that mimic the texture of these chairs, with a debossed chair graphic on the tongue adding a thematic touch. The interior continues the theme, featuring a co-branded Asphaltgold x Puma insole adorned with red garden chair graphics.

This unique design sits atop a crisp white canvas base, accented with brown leather on the Formstrip, a vibrant green sock liner, and a classic gum sole, rounding out a design that merges casual style with meaningful cultural homage.

Mark your calendars for June 8th, 2024, when the Asphaltgold x Puma Palermo “Sedia” will be available exclusively at asphaltgold.com.
