Tyrese Haliburton continues to tease new editions of his PUMA Hali 1. Recently, the injured Indiana Pacers guard took to Instagram Stories to show off a pair inspired by Gina Prince-Bythewood's 2000 film Love & Basketball.
Developed with the help of Salehe Bembury, the signature Puma Hoops silhouette has already told a few stories close to Haliburton, with the newly-surfaced style revisiting a theme seen on other basketball shoes once worn by the NBA star. The Hali 1 sees a white, navy, and yellow color scheme appropriate of the Pacers uniform, but the numbers 32 and 22 on the tongues nod to Love & Basketball—specifically the Crenshaw High School jerseys worn by the fictional Monica Wright (played by Sanaa Lathan) and Quincy McCall (portrayed by Omar Epps). In the film, the school's uniforms are sponsored by PUMA, making the Hali 1's connection more authentic.
Prior to his deal with the Big Cat Brand, Haliburton wore a Nike G.T. Cut 3 inspired by Prince-Bythewood's directorial debut.
No word on whether or not the new Love & Basketball-inspired pair is launching has been shared by any party involved, but it's possible the style will launch via PUMA.com and the Foot Locker family of brands by Spring 2026. The Hali 1 is priced at $130.
