Reebok’s strongest suit is undoubtedly its retro hardwood catalog, with the brand once at the pinnacle of on-court footwear during the early 1990s. With big names and bold designs on board, none quite matched up to big Diesel and his debut Reebok Shaq Attaq— that was until the Shaqnosis and Question came along. With the latter two already serving the market steadily, the final pillar of the big three models slowly but surely working its way into the mix. Now, after appearing as part of a branded collaboration with Smiley, the silhouette returns with Superman — a fitting release for the big Diesel who often applies the Man of Steel moniker (he even has a Superman tattoo on his shoulder)
For this release, DC has taken the Man of Steel mantra quite literally, with “Alloy” greys reaching across the tongues and forefoot, over the hardware and drenching the sole units. A more traditional Superman aesthetic can be sighted at the mesh mid panels and collars, and striking gold Vector overlays that wrap the heel; a literal link is then applied to the tongue Pupm system and heel embroidery.
