Smiley x Reebok Shaq Attaq Drops October 15

Reebok’s strongest suit is undoubtedly its retro hardwood catalog, with the brand once at the pinnacle of on-court footwear during the early 1990s. With big names and bold designs on board, none quite matched up to big Diesel and his debut Reebok Shaq Attaq— that was until the Shaqnosis and Question came along. With the latter two already serving the market steadily, the final pillar of the big three models will finally make its return this month with a retro of the original Magic-themed colorway. In true Reebok form, it hasn’t taken long for the left-field collaborations to come through, with this Smiley x Reebok Shaq Attaq the first of many expected co-signed releases for the silhouette to come.

Putting a positive spin on the Shaq Attaq, Smiley has deployed their famous happy face insignia in the most obvious place — the tongue’s PUMP bubble — as well as a co-branded motif on the lateral wall. Further added details can be found on the insole and inner tongue, too. Color and matieral-wise, the pair’s construct makes a bold statement, with jet black nubucks in complete juxtaposition to pastel pops of green, beige, and blue suedes, and pink plastics. Sole units continue the beige and black theme to complete the design.
