The specifics about Pharrell Williams' partnership with Adidas are unknown, but the two have been officially working together since Spring 2014. Over a decade later, the relationship is going strong, launching new franchises and initiatives. His work with the Three Stripes, however, isn't stopping what seems like a full-fledged retro run of the ICE CREAM Boardflip by Reebok.
Launched in 2005 via the lifestyle and entertainment-focused RBK division, the Boardflip served as the official shoe for Williams' ICE CREAM Skate Team. Figures like Terry Kennedy, Jacob Walder, Kevin Booker, Cato Williams, and Jimmy Gorecki formed part of the group's original members, blending hip-hop, street and sportswear on a big scale.
Gorecki recently took to Instagram to share photos of the Boardflip in its debut "Watermelon" presentation. A vibrant green-and-pink color palette animates a mix of materials across the chunky retro silhouette. The pair Gorecki received arrives with ICE CREAM's Skull logo on the lateral heel; the Billionaire Boys Club (BBC) kin lends its main logo to the tongue label, footbed, and Achilles' heel. Shoe boxes also harken back to the mid-2000s, recreating an ice cream carton.
